Normal Weekend with a twist

Today had a rough start. My family and I woke up in Holiday Inn in Somerset. In the morning, we tried to get our receipt from a restaurant in the hotel and Scott was rushing to go to Day Park at 12:30pm. We forgot to get the receipt after we dined there and we need it in case the restaurant charges our credit card; we accidentally signed for them to do that and we paid in cash, whoops. After we left the hotel, we headed home and we were preparing to go to a Jennifer's 10th birthday party in Bridgewater. At home, we had a two hour gap to find a present, make a card, and chill. Scott left to get together with his old Schor friends at Day Park and planned to get back home at 2:30pm. I read Cat's Cradle for a while and spark noted some information about it because I got lost in the book. Later at 3:00pm, the whole family left the house and headed to the Senior Citizen Building to go get some acquaintances and head to the party all together. We never got to making the card, so we worked on it in the car. We wrote "Happy Birthday!" many times, drew a big 10, scribbled many stars and "xoxoxoxoxo"s, and we signed our names on a card within the envelope.
We drove up many steep hills, and apparently we took a longer route than we were supposed to, and arrived at the party house at 4:00pm. The house was big, white, and had a big pool in the backyard. Throughout the day, we played in the pool, we had a barbecue, played with the wii, sang happy birthday and ate cake, and talked. Jennifer, the birthday girl, is turning 10 on the 20th, loves swimming, is a beginner at golf, loves playing with her DSi, and she punches me a lot... Her sister's name is Rachel; she's 4, is short, is quiet, has a cute bed, and she punches Jennifer a lot... I talked to them a lot. When we were told that we were leaving, we actually had 30 more minutes to play since my dad was talking to their dad. And when we were outside, we saw a snake! We all got out our flashlights and went to look for it in the grass. It was muddy and wet. In the end, we never found the snake, but it was fun. We went home a little while later and said our goodbyes.

NLC FBLA 09

This year's NLC, National Leadership Conference, for FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, was held in Anaheim, CA. The weather was perfect and I had an amazing experience with my advisors and friends: Anthony, Eeshan, Beverly, Richard, Karen, Marcus, Kenny, Matt, Sigalla, Chirag, Daniel, Mohammad, Sam, Sachet, Ms. O, and Ms. Frac. We also met up with a lot of other cool people from other states and countries. Thanks again Rebecca and Natasha! We could not have won without borrowing your projector!

We stayed one week at the Anaheim Marriott and explored the local attractions. We walked to Disney Land, went to Huntington Beach by taxi, met up with my relatives at their house in Los Angeles, chilled at the hotels and at Universal Studios, and lastly competed in our competitive events. Our team KFC (Richard Kim, Karen Feng, William Cheng) won 1st place in Business Financial Plan! "When New Jersey rocks the house, we rock it all the way down!" Haha, that chant still cracks me up.

Tuesday, the first day, I arrived at the airport at 7am and boarded with my friends. I spent the 6 hour flight practicing our presentation, goofing around with friends, and sleeping. When we arrived at Orange County airport, we quickly got to our hotel and practiced the whole day. And we all also chilled in the pool! The second day was a free day! Eeshan, Anthony, Richard, and I were roommates and we went to the Health Club to work out. Later that day, Beverly, Karen, Richard, Daniel, Mohammad, and I left to Huntington Beach. There were 20-some volleyball courts on the beach and tons of surfers. Fun day. Soon after we left and got back to the hotel, we walked to DisneyLand. The rides were fun, but the line for the Indianna Jones ride pissed a lot of us off. It was too long! Thrusday was mostly practice for the preliminaries that came the next day. Friday, team KFC competed in the preliminary round and beasted to the finals! After competing, I left to my Aunt Polly's house and gasped at its size. That night, I ate sushi at a local restaurant and rushed to the hotel at 12am. I had to get there quick because there was a mandatory meeting at 11:45 that I missed, and the curfew was at 12am, which I also broke. My uncle drove 100mph on the highway! My Aunt Rosa eventually sweet talked to my teacher and she got me in less trouble! On Saturday, team KFC did awesome! Although I did not practice much since the preliminary round, we beasted again! Later that day, Richard, Karen and I went to my Aunt's house and we presented our presentation to my relatives. I made some huge mistakes on that presentation, but it was fun. After, we explored the house together, showed off our talents to my relatives, and left to Universal Studios. That night was pretty intense. Richard, Karen, and I were getting all personal and had a "girl talk" about working together and making it to nationals. We later slept on the ground in Beverly and Karen's room. The next day, Sunday, we all headed to the Anaheim Garden Walk and watched UP in 3D! It was a very sad, happy, and funny movie, it's a must watch! I got all depressed the whole morning, simply to get it all out of my system, so during the awards ceremony I felt much more confident and put confidence in my teammates. I aimed high and said we're getting number 1, and we did! That feeling on stage, watching everyone get called up from 10th place to 1st place, was the best feeling ever. However, when we were called for first place, I became overwhelmed with emotion and expressed none of it. I wanted to jump or do something cool, but I couldn't. You can even see it on the video. Great Day. Later that night, Richard and I slept peacefully in Beverly's and Karen's room. Monday, our last day in California, we tried to splurge. We couldn't because we're too asian. The plane ride back was so fun. None of us slept and we talked for the whole 6 hours on the plane. When we arrived home, I think most of us undergone PCD...(Post Conference Depression). That's the end.

I wrote a lot of journals during the NLC. I wrote them on a hotel pillow, on random papers, and on Beverly's iPhone. Most of them were like, "We're going to win 1st place!!!", and others were very personal. It feels good to write journals because it's like someone can keep your secrets. Plus, it's fun to re-read.

I hope many people read this and consider joining FBLA next year. It's really fun and, although it may stand for Future Business Leaders of America, you don't have to like business to have a blast. This club builds your leadership skills and it helps you meet new people! I think I got 10 more facebook friends this year from out of this state! Whooohooo... But seriously, it's fun and you'll have a great experience from it.

Usual school day

Today was pretty fun. I started the day off with waking up to With You.mp3 in Larry's bed. Then I actually had the time to do all my morning activities and catch the bus. I also brought a whole container of baby carrots to school to eat. I ate 3 baby carrots before class and 2 carrots at the end of class; for every class. It kept me awake all day today during school. I skipped lunch time and went to the library today too, but I didn't accomplish much... 20 minutes isn't enough time to study for all the tests I have this week. I have a geometry grade dilemma now; if I don't do well on this last test of the marking period, I'll probably get a C in the class. I guess that's my biggest worry today about school. My other worries in school right now are the internet work (pbwiki project and charts) for my history class. I don't do well on work that's on the computer at home... since I get distracted a lot. Besides school, the rest of my day was pretty fun.

After school, I studied economics for about 2 and a half hours since the test is tomorrow. There was never a date announced for the test so I kind of put off studying yesterday. At around 6pm, everyone finally got home and we all planned to go to Carino's for dinner. But when we arrived, we found out it has closed down permanently. We decided to go to Ichi Umi Japanese seafood buffet to eat for dinner. Before we went there, we went to Staples to buy glue for my Geometry project. I'm eager to finish this project and get a 70/70. After that business was taken care of, we ate at Ichi Umi buffet and surprisingly stayed there for about 2 hours. We ate lots of food and I ate many plates of ice-cream with cake and mango pieces. It was too good to resist. After we finished, we left and went to Wal-Mart to buy Robert a new watch. Larry, Scott, and I hanged around the bike section in the meantime and played with the fun toys that were lying around in the store. At precisely 10:45pm, we left Wal-Mart and headed home. We reached home at around 11pm and from then to now, I've been working and blogging. That's the end of my day.
